Experience Total Vision Freedom
You’ve seen it, heard about it, and maybe have even stopped to consider it: a life less reliant on eyeglasses and contact lenses. If you have ever thought about what life would be like after laser eye surgery, book a consultation at Dr. Henslick Vision Center.
Laser eye surgery is not for every prescription, but we’ll work with you to determine if you are a candidate during your consultation. If you have questions about our laser eye surgery consultations and co-management, book an appointment today!
Comprehensive Consultations
Laser eye surgery is designed to help correct refractive errors in your vision, including conditions like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Our practice offers laser eye surgery consultations to determine if this procedure can help improve your vision.
Some eye conditions can affect your candidacy for laser eye surgery, including:
- Frequent dry eyes
- Eye diseases
- Eye infections
- Diabetes
Our optometrists can determine during the consultation if any factors may affect your recovery from eye surgery. If you can have the surgery safely, we will refer you to one of our trusted ophthalmologists.
Laser Surgery Co-Management
At Dr. Henslick Vision Center, we will work closely with your surgeon to schedule a series of follow-up appointments to ensure a swift and easy recovery from the procedure.
There may be a few side effects post-surgery, including:
- Discomfort
- Glare or halos around bright light
- Dry eyes
- Sensitivity to light
- Blurred vision
If your symptoms escalate or become more severe, contact us immediately.
Not every patient will achieve 20/20 vision through laser eye surgery. Some patients still need to wear glasses or contact lenses, but about 90% of patients report 20/20 or 20/40 vision after their procedure.
LASIK Eye Surgery
At Dr. Henslick Vision Center, we offer LASIK eye surgery consultations. LASIK is the most common eye procedure, often used to help correct myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
Before the surgery, your ophthalmologist uses numbing drops to prepare your eyes. The next step is a small incision in the top layer of the cornea. This incision creates a thin “flap” that your ophthalmologist will fold to get access to the underlying corneal tissue. Your cornea is then reshaped using a preprogrammed laser.
Cataract Surgery Management
Cataracts are an eye condition that results in the clouding of your eye’s lens. Visit our page on eye diseases for more information about cataracts.
Surgery is the only way to remove a cataract. Your ophthalmologist will remove the clouded natural lens during cataract surgery and replace it with a synthetic lens. At Dr. Henslick Vision Center, we offer consultations and co-management for our patients considering cataract surgery. Contact us today for more information.
